What Do You Work For? – Money, Freedom, Success or Fun

Ask Yourself these 5 questions about your job

1) What do you work for every day when you wake up in the morning?

2) What are you trying to achieve in life?

3) Are you planning for the future or just tomorrow? 4) Do you still want to be doing exactly what you are doing today? 5) Where do you see yourself in 2 years?  5 years? 10 years? Workin’ 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin’ Barely gettin’ by, it’s all takin’ and no givin’ by Dolly Parton

I’ve worked my whole life Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or even 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The hours I worked and then the time it took to travel back and forward it ended up becoming a 10 or more day.  I couldn’t wait for the weekend I got 2 days off of Freedom to do whatever I wanted to do. Enjoy Life!

Yes, we all need money to survive and have a roof over our head and food on the table.  I need that also because I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth.  lol

At the early age of 15, I got my first simple job bagging groceries at the local store.  As I got older I got more experience and learned different skills.  I’ve had several jobs over the years some which were fun and some not so fun.  We are taught in the world that you need to find a job that pays very well so you can pay for all your needs in life.

There was one thing that I am missing when I work a 9 to 5 job. Do you know what that is?

Children Learn to Walk for Freedom

When we are children we want to learn how to walk and talk. Why? Because we want to roam around freely and see what’s around us?  Our parents teach us to get our balance and start moving our feet to move forward. Then they teach us words and we end up learning how to talk.  We want to voice our thoughts and feeling. Once we learn how to walk and talk it became a Habit every day. As we did it more often we got better at it.  As a child, we learn Habits to give us the fullest life we can possibly at a young age. We get the Freedom at such a young age. Working is a Habit

Also as a teenager, it’s when we start feeling like “It’s My Life” and you can do whatever we want.   I started working at a local store like I mentioned earlier, it really opened my eyes to the working world.  I started earning my own money and having the Freedom to buy what I wanted.   Freedom and Habits

You are getting so close to quit working and finally get the Freedom you have been hoping for.  Even in your golden years, you will still need money, so what can you do now for the future.  This is usually the years you start really looking at yourself in the mirror and try to figure life out, where did life go? 1. Hey,

Great post very insightful it feels like you are talking to me because I really want to change my life since my day job makes me sick, I actually hate every one who’s name is the same as my boss’s because of what I have had to go through with that guy.
If your recommendation works then I will definitely try that out.

    1. Hi Dave,

I understand how you feel, sometimes you have bosses that just not so nice people.  They are mad at the world and you seem to be in the line of their fire.

  2. Awesome article Ann & Alex.

Yes, you are right we are an example of our own choices and habit.
Choosing to work nine to five is a choice that can always be replaced with ventures and new businesses but it all boils down to the habits just like you said and how ready we are as human to start something on our own and stick to it with the right habits.

    1. Hi,

Some habits are hard to change but sometimes well worth the change.  Change one habit a month and you can change your life.
